Vicarious Trauma: A Descriptive Case Study of Pastoral Counselor Experiences

Lisa Battle is a student member of the ACPE and a doctoral student at Grand Canyon University. She is looking for participants who may be interested in her study. The title of her research is Vicarious Trauma: A Descriptive Case Study of Pastoral Counselor Experiences. Your participation in this study can promote awareness and understanding of vicarious trauma in spiritual and pastoral counseling.

Requirements for participation in this study include current ACPE members who:
  • Psychotherapists or Practitioners (licensed counselors, social workers, board certified chaplains, and former AAPC Diplomats, Fellows or certified pastoral counselors)
  • Provide counseling services to trauma clients 
  • Integrate spiritual or pastoral counseling in your practice
  • Self-identify as a pastoral/spiritual counselor
As a participant (online/in-person) you may be selected to:
  • Maintain a Reflective Journal (6 brief entries)
  • Attend an Interview (45-60 minutes)
All Interviews will be done online using the ZOOM audio conferencing system.
