20/20 Annual Conference Cancellation
ACPE News  |  March 18, 2020

With a heavy heart, the Partners for Professional Excellence in Spiritual Care (ACPE, APC, CASC, NACC, NAJC) decided to cancel the 20/20 Vision: The Future of Spiritual Care conference in Cleveland, OH due to the ongoing healthcare crisis and COVID-19.

The partners are deeply saddened by the need to cancel our conference, and we have done so only after consulting with our boards, the host city, conference center, and hotels. With the ongoing concerns about COVID-19 and the indefinite ban on gatherings in Ohio, along with the recommendation from the CDC to limit meetings to less than 50 people, it is impossible for us to continue to prepare for this conference.

The fallout from not having a conference this year will impact each of us, as members and as individual organizations, but this is the best decision for the health and safety of our members and the larger community. Preparing for the conference involves the time, talent, and creativity of a great many of our volunteers, speakers, exhibitors, and event partners. We’re incredibly grateful for this and deeply disappointed not to be able to hold the meeting as planned.

If you made travel reservations, we now ask that you please cancel your hotel rooms and flights (many airlines are offering accommodations to reschedule fights for other dates/locations). If you registered for the conference, we will begin to process refunds. We ask for your patience while we work through the process of refunding registrations, sponsorships, and vendors.

In the coming weeks, we will tap into the innovative and agile spirit of our community to explore virtual meeting options that deliver world-class education, spotlight spiritual health’s innovation, and celebrate the many achievements we had planned to recognize in Cleveland. Through regularly posted updates on www.acpe.edu and our other member communications channels, we will inform you of rescheduled certification meetings, organizational leadership meetings, and other events.

Thank you again for your commitment to the profession and to each other. Be well and stay safe!
