Morton Plant Hospital Association Inc (MPHA) CPE Program located in beautiful Tampa Bay Clearwater, FL—has opportunities available for residents:

Residency: there are opportunities for five residents to serve at Morton Plant Hospital.  The three unit residency runs 8/13/18 through 8/16/19. Stipend: $34,000 plus benefits.  Tuition: $225 per unit. Prerequisites: minimum of one unit of CPE required; connection to a faith group; a master’s degree in theology/pastoral care preferred.

Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia

Earn a Master of Science (MS) in Patient Counseling at the same time you are doing a CPE residency at Virginia Commonwealth University.  At VCU, all of your CPE requirements earn both ACPE credit and academic credit.  In your one year of CPE with us, you can successfully complete 3 units of ACPE certified CPE™ and receive your MS in Patient Counseling. Your CPE/Master of Science curriculum – in addition to traditional CPE content -- includes semester-long courses in clinical ethics, chaplaincy research literacy, spiritual care leadership, and preparation for Board Certification as a chaplain.  Your clinical experience will be in an urban level-one trauma center offering experiences in the emergency department, surgery, medicine, cardiology, pediatrics, women’s health, psychiatry, corrections (prison ministry) -- and in palliative care and organ donation protocols.  Our faculty are national and regional leaders in specialized ministry through publications, research/research grants, plenary and workshop presentations, and elected office.  

Resident salary is $47,500.  Benefits include paid time off and low-cost healthcare insurance.

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, Texas is recruiting for the 2018-19 CPE Programs. Programs available are:

The Resident Chaplain will provide high quality, comprehensive pastoral care and spiritual comfort to patients, their families and staff members. The ideal candidate will exhibit the highest level of pastoral professionalism in the areas of listening, ministry, grief work and ethical decision making.
 
Qualifications:
•         Endorsement for CPE by appropriate ecclesiastical authority
•         Completion of one unit of CPE in an ACPE, Inc. accredited training center (Resident Program only)
•         Pastoral experience or equivalency preferred
•         Good communication and interpersonal skills required

The Center for Spirituality and Health at Mount Sinai in New York City welcomes applications for the 2018-2019 CPE residency.  Our outstanding residency offers 3 units of CPE and includes a stipend of $35,000 plus benefits and 29 paid days off. Eight chaplain residents work with a team of staff chaplains in this Level I Trauma Center, a 1300-bed academic medical center. Residents share on-call responsibilities, cover designated clinical units, and gain specialty experience. Previous accredited unit of CPE required; M.Div. or equivalent degree preferred. Annual compensation totals $30,500 plus benefits; no tuition.
