2018-2019 CPE Residency at Kettering Health Network in Dayton, Ohio
Kettering Health Network CPE Center is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Residency. The twelve month, three unit program starts September 4, 2018 and ends August 30, 2019. Residency positions are available at either Kettering Medical Center or Grandview Medical Center. The residency curriculum at Kettering Health Network is focused on patient, family, and staff care in an acute care setting. The program also integrates research literacy into the practice of spiritual care, in any setting. The annual stipend is $33,000, plus benefits including health insurance at employee rates, 10 days PTO in addition to Network recognized holidays, and free parking. ACPE Educators are Chaplain Mark Feldbush and Dr. Moses Taiwo.

Kettering Health Network is a faith-based system of eight hospitals in southwestern Ohio’s Miami Valley region. Kettering Health Network is a five time winner of the IBM Watson 15 Top Health Systems Award, a recognition of clinical excellence only ten other health systems in the nation have accomplished.

Baptist Health System, San Antonio, TX is accepting applications for a 2018-19 Residency position beginning 8/27/18 – 8/23/19.  Stipend: 1st yr $30,000; 2nd yr $30,500.  One unit of CPE is required for residency applicants.  The CPE program is integrated into the faith-based mission of Baptist Health System through its Mission and Ministry Division.  BHS includes six acute-care hospitals, which provide a rich diversity of clinical experiences for students.  The CPE program is guided by two ACPE Certified Educators working closely with an experienced chaplain staff to provide an excellent context for learning.

The Sentara School of Clinical Pastoral Education in Norfolk, VA is accepting applications for Chaplain Resident for the 2018-19 residency year. We are seeking persons with a prior unit of CPE as program provides 3 units of CPE. Residency is from August 20, 2018 – August 17, 2019. Chaplain internships are available for the fall unit beginning on August 20th.

The region's first Magnet Hospital, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital/Sentara Heart Hospital, a 525-bed, level I trauma, tertiary care center has nationally ranked programs for heart, diabetes and endocrinology. Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 250-bed facility specializing in orthopedic, cardiac, advanced imaging, gynecological and comprehensive breast care services. 

Our program provides a unique environment that is nurturing and challenging as resident chaplains are supported by staff chaplain preceptors and participate in classes and supervision with Dr. Cross.

St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV is accepting applications for a year-long CPE Residency beginning August 27, 2018 and ending August 23, 2019. Tuition is $1,000/yr and can be divided up per unit throughout the year.

Residents will experience a variety of clinical responsibilities on a full continuum of medical services offered both within the hospital as well as in the local community through the County Health Department’s Harm Reduction program. 
 
A stipend of $28,600/year is provided along with medical insurance provided by SMMC at no expense to the student. One previous unit of CPE is preferred, along with a master’s degree in theology or an equivalent helping profession degree.
