FIRST AND SECOND YEAR RESIDENCY POSITIONS

St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV is accepting applications for a year-long CPE Residency beginning August 26, 2019 and ending August 21, 2020. Tuition is $1,000/yr and can be divided up per unit throughout the year.

Residents will experience a variety of clinical responsibilities on a full continuum of medical services offered both within the hospital as well as in the local community through the County Health Department’s Harm Reduction program.   

A stipend of $28,600/year is provided along with medical insurance provided by SMMC at no expense to the student. Requirements: First Year Resident: One previous unit of CPE is preferred, along with a master’s degree in theology or an equivalent helping profession degree. Second Year Resident: At least 4 units of CPE in a residency setting.  Experience with addiction recovery/care preferred.

The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, is accepting applications for a three-CPE unit, year-long, full-time residency program (8/19/19 –8/12/20).  Eight chaplain residents work with a team of staff chaplains in this Level I Trauma Center, a 1300-bed academic medical center. Residents share on-call responsibilities, cover designated clinical units, and gain specialty experience. One previous accredited unit of CPE required; M.Div. or equivalent degree preferred.
