St. Luke’s Health System is accepting applications for Yearlong Residency (June 4, 2018 – May 24, 2019) and Summer Internship (June 4 – August 17, 2018). All CPE students (including summer students) are hired as employees of St. Luke’s – salary begins at $14.17/hour plus on-call pay and shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends. Residents also enjoy an excellent benefits package. Application fee: $25; Tuition: $650 for single units and first residency unit, $350 for subsequent residency units. South Texas VA Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE Program)
Dates: Monday, June 25, 2018 – Friday, June 21, 2019


Three CPE Residents – Three Level I CPE Residency Positions are available each year at the South Texas VA Health Care System. The three CPE Residents will experience four different three month clinical education opportunities in intensive care, surgery, mental health, and in the specialty areas of polytrauma and spinal cord injury. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, have a M.Div. from an accredited seminary (with graduation date prior to June 2016), have completed minimally one unit of Level I CPE, and be pursuing endorsement for chaplaincy in the VA. Three CPE Specialty Fellows – Three Level II CPE Fellowship Positions are available each year at the South Texas VA Health Care System. The three CPE Fellows will experience twelve months in a specific clinical educational opportunity as outlined below. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, have a M.Div. from an accredited seminary (with graduation date prior to June 2016), have completed minimally four units of CPE (one of which must be at Level II), and be pursuing endorsement for chaplaincy in the VA. The stipend is $29,682 plus health benefits. To apply, please submit completed ACPE application to the below mailing address by January 30, 2018. -Mental Health Fellow – The Mental Health Fellow will have clinical educational opportunities with the inpatient male unit, inpatient female unit, PTSD clinic, and two psycho-social rehabilitation programs.

-Mental Health Fellow with End-Of-Life Focus – The Mental Health Fellow with an End-of-Life Focus will have clinical educational opportunities with the geriatric inpatient unit,Home Based Primary Care Program, and Bereavement Support Group (Note: This fellow and the Palliative Care Fellow will trade clinical assignments at mid-year).

-Palliative Care Fellow – The Palliative Care Fellow will have clinical educational opportunities with the palliative care consult team, community living center, and geriatric extended care clinic (Note: switches clinical assignment mid-year with the End-of-Life Fellow above).

The Center for Spirituality and Health at Mount Sinai in New York City welcomes applications for the 2018-2019 CPE residency.

Our outstanding residency offers 3 units of CPE and includes a stipend of $35,000 plus benefits and 29 paid days off. The residency begins on 7/16/18 and ends on 7/12/19. There is a $100 application fee. Successful applicants receive a full scholarship and pay no tuition.

University of Louisville Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital in Louisville, KY, accepts applications for the 2018 residency. Foci include trauma, palliative, interdisciplinary care, and research literacy. Salary is $37,000; Tuition is $400/unit. The residency covers three units from Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2018. Morton Plant Hospital (MPH) CPE Program, a component of The Partnership for Clinical Pastoral Education: Morton Plant Mease Health Care (MPM) and Suncoast Hospice (SH)—located in beautiful Tampa Bay—Clearwater, FL—has opportunities available for residents:

Residency: there are opportunities for five residents to serve at Morton Plant Hospital.  The three unit residency runs 8/21/17 through 8/17/18. Stipend: $34,000 plus benefits.  Tuition: $225 per unit. Prerequisites: minimum of one unit of CPE required; connection to a faith group; a master’s degree in theology/pastoral care preferred. 

Interns: Accepting applications for Fall 2017 which runs August 21—December 15, 2017.
