Our ACPE-accredited CPE center is located in our St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem campus, with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and the St. Luke’s School of Nursing, the oldest continuously-running nursing school in the country. The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center
in Columbus, Ohio, is accepting applications for a three-CPE unit, year-long, full-time residency program (8/19/19 –8/12/20).  Eight chaplain residents work with a team of staff chaplains in this Level I Trauma Center, a 1300-bed academic medical center. Residents share on-call responsibilities, cover designated clinical units, and gain specialty experience. Previous accredited unit of CPE required; M.Div. or equivalent degree preferred. 2019-2020 CPE Residency Opportunities @ Kettering Health Network in Dayton Area of Ohio

Kettering Health Network, formerly Kettering Medical Center Network KHN), is a network of seven Dayton and Cincinnati area hospitals based in Dayton, Ohio. KHN is a five time winner of the IBM Watson 15 Top Health Systems (2009-2017), a recognition of clinical excellence only five other health systems in the nation have accomplished. KHN Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Center is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Residency Program, starting September 03, 2019 to end August 28, 2020. The twelve months program offers three units of CPE credit at each of the two Campuses (Grand View Medical Center and Kettering Medical Center).  CPE Residency program Curriculum at KHN is focused on patient care in an acute care setting, their families and staff. The program also integrates research literacy into the practice of spiritual care, in any setting. Base Salary: $33,000, plus weekly overtime for a 24-hour-duty shift, and full benefits. South Texas VA Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE Program)
Dates: Monday, June 24, 2019 – Friday, June 26, 2020

Three CPE Residents – Three Level I CPE Residency Positions are available each year at the South Texas VA Health Care System. The three CPE Residents will experience four different three-month clinical education opportunities in intensive care, surgery, mental health, and in the specialty areas of polytrauma and spinal cord injury. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, have a M.Div. from an accredited seminary (with graduation date prior to June 2017), have completed minimally one unit of Level I CPE, and be pursuing endorsement for chaplaincy in the VA. The stipend is $27,398 plus health benefits. To apply, please submit completed ACPE application to the below mailing address by January 30, 2019. Three CPE Specialty Fellows – Three Level II CPE Fellowship Positions are available each year at the South Texas VA Health Care System. The three CPE Fellows will experience twelve months in a specific clinical educational opportunity as outlined below. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, have a M.Div. from an accredited seminary (with graduation date prior to June 2016), have completed minimally four units of CPE (one of which must be at Level II), and be pursuing endorsement for chaplaincy in the VA. The stipend is $29,682 plus health benefits. To apply, please submit completed ACPE application to the below mailing address by January 30, 2019. -Mental Health Fellow – The Mental Health Fellow will have clinical educational opportunities with the inpatient male unit, inpatient female unit, PTSD clinic, and two psycho-social rehabilitation programs.

-Mental Health Fellow with End-Of-Life Focus – The Mental Health Fellow with an End-of-Life
Focus will have clinical educational opportunities with the geriatric inpatient unit, Home Based
Primary Care Program, and Bereavement Support Group (Note: This fellow and the Palliative Care Fellow will trade clinical assignments at mid-year). 

-Palliative Care Fellow – The Palliative Care Fellow will have clinical educational opportunities with the palliative care consult team, community living center, and geriatric extended care clinic (Note: switches clinical assignment mid-year with the End-of-Life Fellow above).

CPE Residents and Summer Interns
St. Luke’s Health System is accepting applications for Yearlong Residency (June 3, 2019 – May 22, 2020) and Summer Internship (June 3 – August 16, 2019). All CPE students (including summer students) are hired as employees of St. Luke’s for the duration of their program – salary begins at $14.83/hour plus on-call pay and shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends. Residents also enjoy an excellent benefits package. Application fee: $25; Tuition: $650 for single units and first residency unit, $350 for subsequent residency units.
