St. Joseph Regional Medical Center South Bend, IN - 07-08 year long residency positions available in a three hospital system. The interfaith CPE program is integrated into the faith-based (Catholic) mission of the hospital which has an emphasis on the underserved populations of the area. St Vincent Mercy Medical Center (SVMMC), Toledo, Ohio, a 500+ bed major tertiary teaching and regional referral center for critical care, has an exciting opportunity for four full-time CPE residents to work with its dedicated Pastoral Care Staff. St. Vincent, a member of Mercy Health Partners, sponsored by the Grey Nuns and Sisters of Mercy, has long been a leader in Northwest Ohio providing quality medical education and promoting community development with emphasis on people who are poor and underserved. The 3-unit residency runs 8/29/08 -8/26/09. The annual stipend is $27,500 plus benefits. Tuition is $325.00 per unit. North Central Region

 

BroMenn Regional Medical Center (Bloomington-Normal, IL) is part of the faith-based BroMenn Healthcare System located along I-55 between Chicago and St. Louis. The Department of Spiritual Care Services is seeking candidates for their three-year ACPE Supervisory CPE Residency. Applicants must have completed a master's degree in theology or divinity from an accredited seminary or university, have four units of CPE with the ACPE, be endorsed or commissioned by their denomination or faith group and have at least two years experience in institutional ministry. The Supervisory Resident will provide pastoral care to a variety of areas in the hospital as well as provide supervision in our CPE programs as they move toward certification as an Associate CPE Supervisor. Residents are offered a broad array of clinical opportunities, which include medical and surgical subspecialties, diverse intensive care unit ministries, organ transplantation, a children's hospital, a psychiatric hospital and a regional trauma center. Three units are offered with four integration weeks in each unit for ministry and reflection. One Resident may be a Second Year Resident. Innovative curricula for First and Second Year Programs.
