ACPE Certification Commission Page
Certification by ACPE is an earned privilege and responsibility. It is achieved by meeting the requirements for certification in the ACPE standards. ACPE certified supervisors are clinical pastoral educators who are academically prepared and who are authorized by a recognized faith group and ACPE to combine perspectives from theology and the behavioral sciences in conducting accredited programs of clinically supervised ministry education.

Position Paper News from the Certification Commission:
The Commission has inaugurated a one-year pilot project that provides Supervisory Candidates the option of submitting theory papers electronically in a read-only format and that the Commission evaluate the results of this pilot project at the Fall 2008 Meeting of the Commission. Also, through the Fall of 2009, the Commission requires readers of theory papers to use the grid (rating sheet) available on the ACPE web site and send copies to the writer. Each writer will receive three rating sheets. The composite narrative evaluation will still be the official evaluation that indicates which papers are satisfactory. If you choose to send papers by mail, they should be carefully placed in a box/envelope that keeps the materials ordered. Particularly effective is the use of spiral binding, which enables readers to manage the materials easily.
