Congratulations

Please join us in congratulating ACPE Supervisor Isaac K. Njuguna for receiving the 2010 Distinguished Alum Award at Louisville Seminary. The Rev. Dr. Isaac K. Njuguna has supervised students—including more than 75 Louisville Seminary students—in their units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) for so long that now he is supervising the children of former students. That's quite a legacy for the Kenyan native who has spent more than 30 years working in pastoral care and counseling and just as many years serving as a CPE supervisor. We salute this month's PNC Unsung Hero…Mr. Irvin Moore. Irvin Moore is truly an amazing man with an energy to help the community that is to be admired. He is a cancer survivor who has taken on the responsibility of organizing volunteers to mentor teens that are hospitalized with behavioral and mental issues at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He also volunteers to help with a cancer screening service for men that travels to various Kroger locations in urban areas twice a month…and he is an Associate Pastor at Mt. Zion Church in Woodlawn. Irv is also an Active ACPE Clinical Member serving on the Board of Representatives for several years. This in itself is remarkable with the demands on time and personal resources and he has not changed his work schedule or his commitment to any of these causes in spite of the fact he gets up at 5AM, 5 days a week to go to radiation therapy…yes, his cancer has returned but he is unswayed by this challenge. For being an example of how we should live lives of commitment and service we salute you, Mr. Irvin Moore as the Unsung Hero for the month of May. Brought to you by PNC Bank and radio station The WIZ.
