Racial, Ethnic, Multicultural Network
(REM) 25th Invitational
in community with the ACPE Annual Conference
February 8-11, 2012
Washington, DC
CELEBRATING OUR PAST,
EMBRACING THE PRESENT,
PROCLAIMING THE FUTURE
The 2012 Racial Ethnic Multicultural Network’s (REM) Invitational Conference is its historic 25th Anniversary Conference. Envisioned in the 1980’s by African-American Supervisors in the ACPE, the REM Network has been a successful movement that has endured for 25 years. This historic conference will take place in the Washington, DC area, the location of the very first REM Invitational Conference. In addition, this historic conference will be held in community – for the very first time – with The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), the organization of which REM is a
network, and its 2012 Annual Conference.
As the world, the nation, and the pastoral care/ education field have changed, the REM Network has been faithful to its mission to
(1) to recruit, develop and empower racial, ethnic and multicultural persons in their formation and competence in ministry and,
(2) to enhance, encourage and enable the practice of ministry in institutions, churches and the community through education, consultation,
fellowship, networking, and worship.
The ACPE’s mission to be a diverse organization has been enhanced by REM’s commitment to this mission.
Join us in this historic conference and celebrate with us! Our theme “Celebrating our Past, Embracing the Present, and Proclaiming the Future” compels us to look at what we have accomplished, to embrace the opportunities and challenges before us, and to proclaim a hope for an inspiring future.
